You are amazing! You are wonderful! You are superb! You are full of greatness, therefore you are “GREATFUL”. Greatful, meaning you are full of absolute greatness. “But that’s not a word Sue.” Maybe greatful is not considered a correct word in the English language, but what’s actually correct anyways? Not a big deal today.
Grateful
Hippity Hips
I sometimes think about how hard it was for me to become a teacher. Then, I think about how grateful I am to be a teacher. At 23 years old, I got my first teaching job at Trafalgar School for Girls in Montreal, Canada. The year was 1986 and I was really nauseous on my first day of work. I loved where I was working, however, the teacher who was supervising my teacher’s probation loved to watch me fail. Every time she supervised one of my lessons, she drilled me and said I should find another profession as I wasn’t cut out to be a teacher.
Lessons from the Beach – 2022 – Roll with the Tide
Last week I was given a fabulous opportunity to take Noonie to Ogunquit, Maine. She has been visiting OGT for 62 years. Noonie prides herself with telling people she was pregnant with me on the beach. Which makes me not quite 60 yet, but I’ve been to OGT for over 60 years. Go figure.
I Thank Youuuuuu!
You Are My Wheels
One more week to go for our JDRF Sun Life Walk to Cure Diabetes event. We will be walking on Sunday, June 12th. This article was written after our 2021 Walk to Cure. This year, we have the same hopes, dreams and wishes. In reading this article, you will know exactly how I’m currently feeling! Enjoy!
A Sense of Accomplishment
I need to mention how good accomplishment feels. It’s sort of like a pat on the back someone gives you, but even better. This feeling comes from within yourself. You did it! It’s your rodeo! You moved the mountain! You did yourself good! Truly the only person you need to please is yourself and you did. Big bravo to you!
Everything Gratitude
I love teaching. My classes are always a joy to me. But… every once in a while, something happens which reminds me why I love teaching so much. A student reads something, sings something or creates something special which makes the class think even harder than before. It’s like magic enters the classroom and everyone feels it. Let me share some MAGIC with you!
Damn It! Some Gratitude Please!
I’m sure there are plenty of things you take for granted or things you feel entitled to.
! PAY ATTENTION !
Nothing is a given, everything is a gift. If you woke up this morning and read this article, this is your first gift. The gift of life and a day to live it…GO! If you turned on a tap and fresh water poured out of it and you were able to wash your face and brush your teeth. Gift #2 of the day. Fresh water!
Spaghetti and Some
I’m not sure if my family is the only one that does this. We name our best food dishes after the people who make or who have made them. Although we all make many different types of food, we only have a few specifically named. Noonie’s Spaghetti is a family classic. In my family, if a dish is made often, loved, and requested it gets named.Recently, my daughter went to Europe. Once there, she was proud to tell me that she made Noonie’s Spaghetti in France . This made me smile as this dish is now an international food!
The Random Occurrence of Wonderful
The other morning I woke up to the sound of ticking on my bathroom window. Tick, tick, tick, tick … Stop … Again, tick, tick, tick, tick … Stop. Again and again, the same ticking sound and then it would stop. This pattern repeated for about five minutes. I rolled over in my bed and tried to go back to sleep. I assumed it was a squirrel running about.
Are we living in the 2nd or 3rd dimension now?
How can there be so much more life in a mobile device than in actually living life?
Encourage Encouragement
I ran in, collected the watermelon and zipped to the cash to pay. Almost hoping no one would see me in my pursuit to run in, buy and dash. That’s when a woman I sort of knew stopped me and said…
The More Good You Give, The More Good You’ll Get
Sometimes making greater attempts to work in the positive will yield more positive. Doing good things to or for others will bring happiness to you and the world. Good usually breeds more good. Do some good!
A Win-Win Situation
Years ago, I had an aunt who was excellent at cutting discount coupons out of newspapers and magazines. As a child I frequently asked her what she was doing and how she saved money by doing it. She said she was playing the “Store Game”. My aunt was playing a purchasing game retail stores and product manufactures had set up. If she played it well, she saved a lot of money. Also, the more often she played, the more money she saved.
Selfless, selfish or both?
I think… if everyone knew how great it feels to help others selflessly, they would do it selfishly.
Breaching the Beauty of Canada
The truth is Canada is like a glorious breaching whale.
Strong and beautiful. Something to admire.
