Grateful

You’re ‘Greatful’

You’re ‘Greatful’

You are amazing! You are wonderful! You are superb! You are full of greatness, therefore you are “GREATFUL”. Greatful, meaning you are full of absolute greatness. “But that’s not a word Sue.” Maybe greatful is not considered a correct word in the English language, but what’s actually correct anyways? Not a big deal today.

Hippity Hips

Hippity Hips

I sometimes think about how hard it was for me to become a teacher. Then, I think about how grateful I am to be a teacher.  At 23 years old, I got my first teaching job at Trafalgar School for Girls in Montreal, Canada. The year was 1986 and I was really nauseous on my first day of work. I loved where I was working, however, the teacher who was supervising my teacher’s probation loved to watch me fail. Every time she supervised one of my lessons, she drilled me and said I should find another profession as I wasn’t cut out to be a teacher.

A Sense of Accomplishment

A Sense of Accomplishment

I need to mention how good accomplishment feels. It’s sort of like a pat on the back someone gives you, but even better. This feeling comes from within yourself. You did it! It’s your rodeo! You moved the mountain! You did yourself good! Truly the only person you need to please is yourself and you did. Big bravo to you!

Spaghetti and Some

Spaghetti and Some

I’m not sure if my family is the only one that does this. We name our best food dishes after the people who make or who have made them. Although we all make many different types of food, we only have a few specifically named. Noonie’s Spaghetti is a family classic. In my family, if a dish is made often, loved, and requested it gets named.Recently, my daughter went to Europe. Once there, she was proud to tell me that she made Noonie’s Spaghetti in France . This made me smile as this dish is now an international food!

The Random Occurrence of Wonderful

The Random Occurrence of Wonderful

The other morning I woke up to the sound of ticking on my bathroom window. Tick, tick, tick, tick … Stop … Again, tick, tick, tick, tick … Stop. Again and again, the same ticking sound and then it would stop.  This pattern repeated for about five minutes.  I rolled over in my bed and tried to go back to sleep. I assumed it was a squirrel running about.

A Win-Win Situation

A Win-Win Situation

Years ago, I had an aunt who was excellent at cutting discount coupons out of newspapers and magazines. As a child I frequently asked her what she was doing and how she saved money by doing it. She said she was playing the “Store Game”.  My aunt was playing a purchasing game retail stores and product manufactures had set up. If she played it well, she saved a lot of money. Also, the more often she played, the more money she saved.
